When I'm standing still will my blades sink into the ice?

No. The blade is kept at a maximum temperature of 5°C. A good analogy would be to compare placing your hand (which is 32°C) in one spot on the ice for an extended period of time. Your hand does not melt through or into the ice it simply becomes very cold. This is because your hand is not heating up the ice; rather the ice is drawing heat from your hand. For additional information, see the attached paper by Dr. Alain Haché.

How long will batteries last?

The battery is intelligent and knows when you're on the ice and it goes into standby mode automatically when you are on the bench. With a minimum 75 minutes of power, the player will get power through a full practice and well into multiple overtime periods in a game situation.

How durable are the electronics?

Extensive tests, both on the ice and in the lab, have been completed to ensure our design can withstand the rigours of the game of hockey.

How many times can I sharpen my blades?

Is Thermablade technology heavier?

Our design, including battery and electronics, results in an increase of less than 10% compared to the lightest skate on the market.

Will the added weight hinder my performance?

No. The added weight is marginal (less than one ounce) Studies show that the net benefit of using Thermablade is a 10% physiological advantage vs. a cold blade. Simply stated this means that, for an average 200-pound player, it would be like playing with 20 pounds less body weight. An advantage of that magnitude far outweighs that additional ounce.

Where is Thermablade made?

They are made in Canada!

Does Thermablade have a warranty policy?

Yes. Thermablade products carry a limited warranty for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
